A sample of our eggs. We have several different breeds of hens so most cartons have blue, blue-green, and various shades of brown and cream eggs. Our Pasture Raised VS Store Bought
The 3 darker yolks came from our free range hens. The pale yellow came from store bought organic, cage free eggs.

From Mother Earth News:

Eggs from hens allowed to peck on pasture are a heck of a lot better than those from chickens raised in cages! Most of the eggs currently sold in supermarkets are nutritionally inferior to eggs produced by hens raised on pasture. That’s the conclusion we have reached following completion of the 2007 Mother Earth News egg testing project. Our testing has found that, compared to official U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) nutrient data for commercial eggs, eggs from hens raised on pasture may contain:

• 1⁄3 less cholesterol
• 1⁄4 less saturated fat
• 2⁄3 more vitamin A
• 2 times more omega-3 fatty acids
• 3 times more vitamin E
• 7 times more beta carotene

Below are some of our girls. They are free to roam our 15 acres eating all the bugs and greens they would like! We supplement their diet with a mixture of oats, corn, and black oil sunflower seeds. No antibiotics or hormones used.

Hatching Eggs

We offer hatching eggs from our blue and green eggs layers. They are not from show lines and are meant for someone who simply wants to add some colored egg layers to their backyard flock! These girls lay various shades of green and blue eggs and the hens themselves come in a variety of colors....$6/dozen

"Variety Pack" : Assortment of eggs from all our hens which would include bantam frizzles, ameraucanas, speckled sussex, black australorp and delaware hens, sired by our ameraucana rooster......$4/dozen

Chicks!!

We have several hens sitting on nests right now. We have 6 chicks from a hatch last week. Ameraucana roo is the daddy to them all but the chicks are mixed with other breeds. They will likely lay shades of green eggs being 1/2 Ameraucana. 2 are black frizzles. They are available now. E-mail or call if interested. We should have some straight Ameraucan chicks out of the next hatch if all goes well.
