A $50 deposit is required for a kid reservation. This deposit is non-refundable unless we are unable to fill your reservation. In that case, the deposit can be rolled over to a different breeding or next season, or it can be refunded. We take two types of reservations: Those on specific pairings, as well as more general reservations for those that are less concerned about the pedigree and more interested in certain traits (ex. good milker, 4h show prospect, if you really only want a certain color, etc). We do not take reservations for coat color/polled/eye color on specific pairings but I can make note of your preference. For example, if the kid you reserved out of a specific pairing is born but isn't "moonspotted enough", your deposit will not be refunded. If you are hoping for a blue eyed, black and white baby from a certain doe and it is not born, your deposit will not be refunded. Unfortunately color is very hard to predict and often kids come out colored very differently than their parents! If you are concerned about getting a specific color/pattern, you will have a better chance on the general reservation list. Please reach out with any questions about this!

Once the kids are born, the first person on the list will be notified. If we do not hear from you in 48 hrs, we move on to the next person in line. If you decide to purchase the kid, we require 1/2 down to hold the kid until pickup. The balance is due at or prior to pick-up/shipping. Buyer is responsible for any other fees such as health certificate, any other testing desired, and shipping. If you have something particular you are wanting (show quality, heavy milker, blue eyes, etc) please let us know so we can help steer you in the right direction!

Bottle kids must be picked up by 4 weeks of age. Adults and weaned kids must be picked up within 2 weeks of sale unless other arrangements have been made. Animals not picked up on time will be charged a boarding fee of $2 a day.

Animals are guaranteed healthy when they leave our farm. Since we cannot control any stress that may occur as a result of shipping or the animals environment and care once it leaves our farm, we cannot offer any further guarantees. In the case of infertility, a replacement or refund will be given contingent apon a veterinary statement that the origin is genetic and the animal has received adequate care. We will offer a replacement of equal value for genetic defects such as extra teats.

Disease Testing/Prevention

We test annually (or close to it) for CAE. We typically test in batches throughout the year (usually as we pregnancy test). Our recent testing occured between late summer-winter 2023 on all bucks and bred does (all negative-working on getting them uploaded). Johnes we spot test some years and whole herd test others (our current breeding age herd was recently test negative via PCR 9-12-23 Results Here and a couple that came late via blood here). We no longer test for CL due to innacuracies in testing but we have never had a case in our herd. We bring in very few new animals at this point but we quarantine and test any new animals entering the herd for CAE, Johne's and CL.

As an added precaution, we also pull kids and bottle raise with pastuerized milk and heat treated colostrum for disease prevention. Kids are kept separate from the adult herd until freshening. We will gladly perform any additional testing at buyers expense prior to purchase.
